Programmable MIDI Kick Drum Pedal
The programmable MIDI kick drum pedal utilizes:
- a programmable unit using a 8-way DIP switch which selects the
MIDI drum sound (0-127) as in Table 1
- a stereo jack-socket, which also acts as the on/off switch, power-on
LED, 9 volt battery connector
- a MIDI 5-pin DIN output socket, see Circuit

The programmable MIDI kick drum pedal requires:
Programming the unit:
At power-on, if the programme DIP-8 switch is simultaneously ON, then the
unit will enter programme mode. The 8-Way DIP switch positions 1 to 7 are read
and stored in the EEPROM, and the unit will operate as shown in Table
1.
Programming the MIDI Kick Drum Pedal Unit only has to be done once
and the switch positions are stored internally in the EEPROM and the unit will
continue to operate in this mode, even when power is removed, until
reprogrammed.
If a different drum sound value is required, at any time, then the
programming procedure can be repeated.
Program Mode:
- Set programme DIP-8 switch to ON and DIP switches 1 to 7 to the required
MIDI Drum sound value (See Table 1)
- Switch unit On, the power-on and programme LEDS are both on.
Normal Mode:
- Set programme DIP-8 switch to OFF
- Now switch the unit on, the power-on LED is on and the programme LED is
off.
- At power-on, if the programme switch (DIP 8) is not ON then the unit operates as
previously programmed.
